Cathie Update 01/01/2008
Your prayers were and continue to be a blessing to us. We literally feel the power of your prayers being lifted up and the Lord answering. He was not fretting or wringing His hands. He has a plan.
I kept hearing this song and others throughout today in my head. It’s wonderful to be in a rich musical and teaching environment at our church where He is lifted up and our hearts join together in Worship and Word. I’m preachy today, I know, but I can’t help it. Jesus Christ is Lord.
Our God is an Awesome God! He Reigns From Heaven Above With Wisdom, Power and Love. Our God is an Awesome God!
For believer's to pause for Cathie and I, to pray, is very humbling. There is no way we can express our gratitude to you apart from thanking the Lord for His Faithful and asking Him to bestow greater blessings upon each of you as you pray. I know that is asking a lot of Him, but He is boundless in His love and caring for each of us.
Cathie and I have had a full 24 hours at home. She is resting nicely tonight as I write and things are quiet. Thank you Lord.
This morning I was able to help her with her shower and get dressed, make some breakfast, get her medications, which is about every 4 hours, 24/7, and put something in the oven for lunch and dinner, as she observed---it was so nice having her there, lovingly help me with this ingredient, that vegetable to add, don’t do that, and she added the salt and pepper to taste.
You should know she cooks by her nose and eyes first, then taste---she is a wonderful cook. It has to LOOK and SMELL good, and then at the end a little taste to see if a touch more of salt/pepper or something is needed to finish it off. It always turns out great. The Lord had prepared me for this time by having me help her cook many times in the kitchen preparing for family meals. Of course, I’m not used to being the head of the cooking department, but more the gopher and stir type. Today it turned out well.
Cathie did throw-up, a while later---not due to the cooking, but by the medications which caused a problem. It really hurt her broken rib and back, at the time, but she felt much better and recovered very nicely. Thank you Lord. We are praying for that to settle down.
We know the Lord preserved us for a special plan, which He has set us aside to do. Although Cathie and I live that way every day, there is no doubt He has made us acutely aware of looking to Him moment by moment. He is sustaining our steps now and He will direct our future steps. He knows where we are going. We need to follow. We are not to get in front nor be found lacking when His timing is revealed.
The orders for now are---Rest (be still) and Know that I Am---God.
Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, cards, and emails.
In Him,
Homer

Cathie,
Glad to hear that you are recovering and our prayers are with you as always. We love you and may the Lord heal you quickly.

Cathie and Homer, we thank God for His remarkable preservation and protection for you both. Homer, your updates are so appreciated; they have circled the earth. What an example of a Godly husband!
Others likely share my wish to "be right there with you", but it would be a bit crowded if we all squeezed into your bedroom. So just know our thoughts are with you moment by moment as you work for healing. It is work. And we pray Jehovah Rapha will heal you completely. The world needs you, and God has more work for you. No retirement yet. Much love, Becky

Cathie,
PTL you are home and doing so much better and even able to keep an eye on Homer in the kitchen. That has to be a lot safer for both of you. Oops, I can almost feel the extra pop in my back the next time I'm on his table. Seriously, the faith and peace you have both exhibited so wonderfully through this ordeal are a true testimony of your faith and the Lord's faithfulness. Julie and I are praying regularly for your full and speedy recovery so you can get back to protecting our freedoms.
Grace and peace,
Richard

We praise God for HIS marvelous ways. He, alone, knows our days and when we are to end our days here and join HIM where HE is. How wonderful that you and Cathy survived and are thriving! We add our prayers for complete recovery.

Thank you so much for this blog....It's such a practical blessing to so many of us who are praying for y'all and are eager for updates. I know we can't grasp all of your specific, moment-by-moment needs, but that's what we trust the Lord to provide. We count it a privilege to intercede for you and thank God for the ways in which you'll be able to glorify Him in this situation.
p.s. Homer, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who hears songs in my head like a broken record! The most common ones to minister to me are "It Is Well With My Soul" and a song by Tree 63 called "Blessed be the Name." I LOVE this song!

Cathie and Homer, I pray that you have done even better today. You both have been so gracious to all of us and I thank you. Homer, you have been busy - this is a fantastic blog and will help in the long run for you and Cathie to hopefully get more rest and be healed quickly. You are in my prayers and I love you both very much. Jan

How grateful we are to our good God, Cathie and Homer, that He spared your lives! Cathie, so many people have said to me "What would we do without Cathie Adams? Who could possibly take her place?" And I had to answer them that I had no doubt that God would have someone that you had readied, but that I certainly didn't know who that would be and so like your other many "fans", I am just so very grateful that you are able to continue to fight the good fight for the conservative cause! You go, girl! And, Homer, it's nice to know that you have a second talent to fall back on should your doctoring days ever get too boring! Chef Adams!! God bless both of you and rest well!

Dear Kathy and Homer,
Now I will be preachy....There is a ex-
cruciating suffering that God allows some
of his children to experience that will
make them wholly more powerful vis.others... and
mature in their walk with Him. I know
you know this .. but WATCH what He does!!! My love,
Prudence.

Homer & Cathie;
Glad that healing and recovery is taking place. God DOES have a plan in all of this, and His Sovereignty is no secret; so glad your trust is in HIM. We continue to pray for you, and trust you into His care (along with Homer's able care)
Our love and prayers,

Homer and Cathie,
I always suspected that your guardian angels worked many overtime hours right along with you! I am so grateful that God spared your lives. Cathie--your gracious and graceful nature is always so inspiring, and now I see that even in the midst of your pain you remain grace-filled. Blessings to you both. Thanks for taking such good care of her, Homer! You're my hero too.

I am praying for your recovery, and was so saddened to hear of the accident. Please know that you are loved and prayed for by me. You must stay healthy so that we can plan the arranged marriage between your grandson and my daughter!

Cathie, I am thrilled to know that each day brings improvement. I have added your name to both our church and Sunday School prayer list. I figure that there are angel feathers all over the road where the accident occurred as your very life was being protected! With much love and prayers for a complete recovery.

Jayne Schindler phoned to tell me about
Cathie and Homer's horrific accident. I can only say Praise God! for an outcome that could easily have been otherwise! Isn't it amazing how God sends forth His angels in a time of need and already provided all the help needed in advance of the accident? I know you were praying for our neice's husband Ryan who rolled his semi down a 100 foot embankment into a river. Because of prayer, he is alive and well today. Likewise, you both have my prayers for easing of your pain and for a total recovery. For two people who love the Lord so very much, it seems there is indeed still work to be done!
Love in Christ Jesus,
Samantha

May God give you strength and healing.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to rest in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anoinest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely thy goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23

The many communications of love and prayers you have received are a testament to your witness for Christ and your commitment to a better America.

Praying the Lord continues to help see you both through this trial. When situations occur as this, we often are amazed at how vulnerable we are without His protection.
What a testimony of faith, courage, and the Lord's timing prevailing...
Wishing you continued blessings of healing and refreshment... But don't stay out of the picture too long, Cathie. We need you back in the political arena passing news and commentaries.

And the Best Year you ever had.
